How long does setup take?
The bath sets up in under 5 minutes. Allow up to 5 hours to reach 3°C when starting from 25°C, depending on ambient temperature and the original water source temperature. It's a plug and play system.
Do I need ice to operate it?
No. The built-in chiller cools water down to 3°C without the need for ice.
Operation is very simple. If you have a dedicated area under cover (e.g., a heat deck, small pop-up marquee near the main medical facility), setup is straightforward. Ideally, the area should have good drainage, access to a water source, and a power supply.
Is it safe for unconscious or collapsing patients?
Yes. The bath includes a semi-reclined position, clear airway access, and anti-slip surfaces to support assisted use in emergency settings.
How is water hygiene managed between uses?
The system features multiple filtration points, ozone sanitation, and 20 replaceable PET filters — supporting high-volume use with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) in mind.
Can I transport it between events?
The ice bath and chiller system can be transported in a large SUV or van. The chiller unit is packed in a wooden box without wheels and requires at least two people to lift or the use of a trolley. It is recommended to repackage the chiller into the wooden box each time for protection. The bathtub is packaged in a cardboard box but also comes with its own carry bag, which can be easily carried by one person.
Is it compatible with my electrical system?
The chiller supports various international voltages. Please confirm compatibility or ask us for adapter guidance based on your region.
What if no local technician is available for repairs?
We offer remote support via video or phone. Maintenance kits and user manuals are provided, and we can recommend third-party services if needed.

The Clinical Cold Water Immersion Bath is the result of over two years of focused design, development, and field testing. It was trialled in real-world conditions at major endurance events in the Middle East, including the Dubai Marathon and the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon. Multiple iterations were deployed to ensure the integration of clinical best practices for managing Exertional Heat Illness (EHI).
Clinical Expertise Behind the Innovation
The CCWIB was developed under the clinical leadership of Simon Swallow, QAM, a Registered Healthcare Professional with over 39 years of experience, including 20+ years as an Event Medical Director in the UK and Middle East. He has led medical operations across all distances of mass participation running events, refining emergency response and clinical recovery protocols for Exertional Heat Illness (EHI).
